Jenni-Elise Ramirez, Kindermusik Teacher

Jenni-Elise’s love of music began at a very early age. She participated in many music and dance classes as a young child similar to the classes offered at Kindermusik, and fell in love with expressing herself in this creative way.She was known as “the little songbird” in her house and neighborhood, because she was constantly singing and listening to music.

She was a lead singer with the Santa Barbara Children’s Chorus from the ages of 4 until 12. While a prominent member of the choir she also began to take private singing lessons, and piano lessons to further develop her musical talents. During this time she took ballet, tap, jazz, irish/lyrical, and hip hop classes, where she fell in love with movement. She also was chosen to be a part of the Civic Light Opera where she performed in numerous plays at both the Granada and Lobero Theaters. Her performing also included many Unity Telethons, private parties, being featured on the local television stations, and group and solo performances at Soho Restaurant and Music Club.

She attended Dos Pueblos High School where she was a singer with the prestigious Jazz Choir. With the Jazz choir she was able to compete on a national level, touring Europe twice. While in high school she joined S.O.D.A (School of Dance Arts) where she furthered her dance career, becoming a young choreographer, as well as a competitive dancer.

She was accepted into the music program at California State University, Long Beach, where she majored in jazz vocal performance. After her first year she decided to incorporate her love and passion for music with the education of young children. She graduated as a prestigious member of the presidents honor roll and received her B.A in Liberal Studies along with a multiple subjects teaching credential in 2010.

Emily Yurcheshen, Kindermusik and Majors of Music Teacher

A music teacher, singer/songwriter and workshop facilitator, Emily received her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Emily has been teaching singing, songwriting, guitar, piano and ukulele full-time for the last eight years. She combines her progressive educational background with her passion for music to create, perform and inspire children of all ages to express the music within.

Emily loved to sing and dance with her father growing up, but she never imagined she would be a musician until 10 years ago when she was guided on a healing journey around the world where she began to discover the songs within her own heart. Emily?s joy for music has inspired many others along the path to discover how fun and healing music making can be.

Her beliefs about the power of music can be summed up best from a quote from Plato. “Music has the capacity to touch the innermost reaches of the soul and gives flight to the imagination.”

Alison Walker,
Kindermusik Teacher

Allison is a San Diego native who has been in Santa Barbara for five years and is so thankful to be welcomed to the Kindermusik with Kathy & Friends Family! She can’t wait to share her love of music, inspire and create an amazing environment for children to express themselves while learning in the new Goleta Valley Church studio and in SB classes.

Being a singer from a young age in youth-group choir and theatre, she has experienced the amazing benefits of having an early connection with music. During Jr. High School, she played tuba in concert band and volunteered working as a leader at vacation bible school teaching singing, games, arts and crafts to children of all ages, and loved helping in the nurseries with the babies during church service. Allison attends the SBCC studying Business, but also loves doing Art (and teaching at Kindermusik Summer camps), Swimming or Playing Guitar. She works with music and food -her other passion- at the SB Bowl during concert season. You may see her dancing to a good beat on her breaks or supervising her wonderfully theatrical group of amazing volunteers who she is happy to admit join her for Sing-A-Longs while cleaning in the food booth.

Allison incorporates music in all areas of her life and is passionate about sharing this beautiful outlet and powerful learning tool to children and families. Come see her at the new Goleta Studio!

She loves singing, playing the guitar, drumming, and dancing with her kindergarten, first, and second grade students. After hours you may find Franny rocking the karaoke stage.
