Kindermusik provides the time and tools to help bring the power of music into your home and your child’s life forever. But don’t just take our word for it, read what the experts are saying about Kindermusik.
“Kindermusik provides the sound nutrition to improve movement, listening, and expression in young children. Through activities and music making, skills for parents and children alike create inroads for the great orchestration of a family’s hearts and minds.” – Don Campbell World-renowned authority on the transformative power of listening and music, and author of The Mozart Effect® for Children
“When introduced appropriately, music and literature play an amazing role in the development of infants and toddlers. I’m happy that Kindermusik has extended their programs to include this time of life when brain development is most vulnerable and parents are most in need of support and direction.” – Claudia Quigg, M.Ed. Founder and executive director of BabyTALK, a program dedicated to helping parents become better parents to their children
It’s not only the experts who love Kindermusik either. Parents and their children alike enjoy their experiences with Kindermusik also!
“Our 3 year-old Seth looks forward to each class with such vigor; we know he loves it. His musical interest has increased and is always identifying the instruments in songs now. We feel confident that when we pick him up from class, he will have had a nurturing, educational, and fun! experience.” Sean Kirkpatrick and Sarah Bloom, Carpinteria
“Learning how to play the recorder was very fun! When Kathy would let us go on the air log, we always had fun. Kathy always made me laugh and have fun at class.” Ally Jacobs, age 6 (at time of class)
“My daughters have been attending Kindermusik with Kathy for several years and it has been an amazing program to be involved with. It has been a class that we have consistently attended over the years as my children love the classes. Kathy is so incredibly energetic and engaging with young children that they always have a fun time and learn something from each class. Kathy also offers fabulous birthday parties that are great value. My daughter loved her 5th birthday party at Kindermusik. I would recommend Kindermusik with Kathy without hesitation to any parent of young children.”

“I am discovering the joys of Kindermusik with my toddler granddaughter, this is our special bonding time together. She is already “dancing” to the music and showing a sense of rhythm. After raising my children with Gymboree two decades ago, it is a real treat to reconnect with Kathy, sharing her vibrant energy and love of children with my granddaughter! I look forward to years of Kindermusik classes together!” Julie Wexler, Santa Barbara
“We have been attending Kindermusik with Kathy since our daughter was 1 1/2 years old. She absolutely loves it! Not only does she enjoy singing the songs and reading the stories, but we feel she truly appreciates all the different styles of music that come from this class! Whether it is a country song, ballad, or lullaby, she is learning that music comes in all shapes and sizes. As parents, we have seen our daughter get so excited when a particular song comes on- and she demonstrates hand movements or gestures that she learned in class. Kathy and her team do a wonderful job of incorporating other aspects of fun and play- with an air log, parachute, and towel rides…they keep the toddler-crowd entertained and also plenty of variety so that each week it is something different and new. We are always pleased with how clean everything is kept, and how friendly and professional the entire staff is! Thank you, Kathy!” Dalina and Mike Klan, Montecito
“Our twin boys have adored being students of ‘SB Kindermusik with Kathy’ for many years. Kathy and her staff are nurturing, attentive and fun, creating an atmosphere where the children learn great musical foundations in a spirit of adventure and imaginative exploration. Thank you Kathy for helping plant a love of music in our kids!” Annie Torsiglieri, Santa Barbara
“Kindermusik has become a special part of our lives. Sarah and I look forward to Monday evenings. It is our very special time together. During the week, we continue to share the songs, chants and rhymes that we do during class. I cannot imagine what we did before Kindermusik.” C. Shoobridge, Father of Sarah, age 4
“My daughter Lily started Kindermusik with Kathy when she was an infant. She loved going to class. That has translated into an enduring love for music and movement. Now she is nine years old and is taking Ukulele with Emily through Kindermusik. Ukulele has been an engaging first instrument. Unlike some instruments it sounds good even when a novice is practicing. Lily was able to play a simple song after her very first lesson. Her teacher Emily is fantastic. She is warm, patient, engaging, and has a way with kids. Lily learned to write her own songs and has performed in front of an audience. Taking Ukulele has been good for her confidence and has helped her find her voice. She is shy so it is wonderful to see her have the confidence to perform. Kathy has always said that music helps academics and so far this has proven true for Lily. Kindermusik is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joy of music” Leise Thomason, Santa Barbara
When my daughter was a baby a friend in Canada suggested that we try out Kindermusik, as she felt it was helping her two children to learn to love music. We were very lucky to live here in Santa Barbara where Kathy Hayden’s Kindermusik program is one of the best in the world. Kathy has built her program using her unique background in education and musical talents so that it includes singing, dancing, and the playing of instruments, so even the youngest children can become fully immersed in the musical experience. Maria Montessori said, “A child learns best through multi-sensory experiences. If a child can participate in a concept with his touch, smell, hearing and sight, the concept will be much more impacting and memorable.” This proved to be the case! My daughter completed the entire series of Kindermusik classes, and participated in the additional Music Majors program that Kathy has developed for older children. Every week for 8 years she looked forward to her classes and they were the foundation for her continued interest in musical exploration. Her current piano teacher says that her memory for music is excellent, and I know that her previous experience with Kindermusik is the reason! My daughter loves music, when she hears a song she has to sing and dance along! Thank you Kathy, you have helped make love of music something special that our whole family can share.
